Mayodan Library Artifacts Exhibit Continuing Till Further Notice
To all Historians,
The Mayodan Library has asked me to set up an artifacts exhibit of Madison area Homesites (18th-19th century) similar to my May exhibit earlier at the Reidsville, NC downtown library.
The cases of relics will consist of items from:
- "Valley Field Plantation" (1783)
- "Valley Home" (1795) of William Deering
- "Baughn family" homesite (19th century)
- Moyer Road cabin site (19th century)
- Crowder Homesite (19th century) off NC Highway 704
The case will include military relics from the French & Indian War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. I hope everyone can stop in to view it during its display continuing till further notice. The library is located at 101 North 10th Avenue in Mayodan, North Carolina. Its hours are Mon - 10-8, Wed - 10-6, and Fri - 10-6.
Occasionally, a club meeting will be held in the field at a hunt site prior to the start time.
